KEY OBJECTIVE:
As a key member of the Financial Lines underwriting department, you will have the role of managing and growing a Private and Not-for-profit Management and Professional Liability book of business. As such, you will play a critical role in the growth and profitability initiatives for this specialty department.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Risk selection, coverage negotiation and pricing adequacy with a focus on mid-market business;
- Conduct in-depth underwriting analysis and determine best course of action on a risk specific basis;
- Working collaboratively with a centralized underwriting team on the retention of renewals and upselling on existing renewal book;
- Identifying, analyzing and developing sources of new business by actively marketing Chubb products;
- Cross selling with Commercial field underwriters and Financial Lines underwriters;
- Establishing and maintaining high levels of service and strong relationships with a variety of brokers and insureds;
- Participating in self development activities to improve or further develop technical product knowledge.
Work Experience QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a university level curriculum and/or equivalent work experience;
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset;
- Previous underwriting experience in Management Liability insurance;
- Previous experience in marketing or customer development;
- Demonstrated track record of customer service orientation and proven ability to foster strong business relationships;
- Proven negotiation skills, gained through established broker relationships;
- Demonstrated analytical skills with a comfort in financial analysis;
- Ability to be innovative and creative in order to develop new opportunities;
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
- Results oriented, accountable and collaborative.
