This role will be member of the PMT (
Project Management Team), responsible for planning and scheduling on the PBAT Plant project located in Hai Phong, Vietnam. PMC experience as Client facing as Planning Engineer in chemical and petrochemical projects is a critical requirement.
Key interactions
Planning Engineer reports to Project Control Manager of the Project Management Team
Internally: Project team, engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, commissioning, project control, QHSES and R&D team.
Externally: project team and
technical specialists from Front End & EPC contractors, Licensor, construction contractors and vendors.
Job Duties
Highlights areas of concerns and solutions to help achieve a successful and timely completion of Projects
Provides Project Feedback and Lessons Learned in order to improve the Planning & Scheduling methods.
Defines Project objectives in terms of duration and resources.
Serve as single point of accountability for all planning & scheduling activities on a project.
Supports approval process of the Schedule Baseline, progress claimed or milestones achievement.
Ensures all EPC contractor establish a robust planning, scheduling and monitoring systems and monitors their progress closely
Monitors and controls the project status, to detect any delay and to propose corrective actions.
Defines the Project Breakdown Structures.
Estimates the delay linked with changes and claims and to prepare the Extension of Time analysis, in case of delay.
Interface with engineering disciplines, project team and design teams.
Defines for the Project Management a Contract duration realistic and feasible for execution.
Increases Project team members' awareness of the Project Milestones, main durations and critical paths.
Pilots the Project status and to ensure the forecast reliability.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
Experience of planning software (Primavera P6)
Minimum of one (1) year direct field experience.
A BSc or MSc degree in engineering with minimum ten (10) years' experience as planning engineer and knowledge of chemical and petrochemical developments.
Must be willing to travel and relocate to project site.
Professional English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work and interface with other disciplines, client, contractor and technology licensors.
Excellent understanding of all life cycle of the projects, including procurement, construction, commissioning and operations.
