UNIS Hanoi is a not-for-profit, coeducational English-language day school enrolling over 1,100 students from Early Years (3-year-olds) through to Grade 12. UNIS Hanoi is authorized by the Ministry of Education in Vietnam. It is administered by the Head of School and governed by a nine-member Board of Directors.
The campus land area is approximately 92,000 square meters and houses buildings that cover roughly 28% of the land. The school's master development plan has been updated and is in the approval process by the Board. As we enter a new phase of campus development, we are looking for a Project Manager who can support the ongoing improvement of our facilities and drive critical campus development initiatives to completion. The position is open to candidates who reside in Vietnam and from abroad.
The Project Manager - Campus Development position will oversee and manage the planning, design, and execution of a number of campus development initiatives, including a new, multi-million dollar construction project. The position holder will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the School's high standards. The successful candidate will have exceptional project management skills, previous experience leading a large construction project, and a passion for creating inspiring learning environments.

Responsibilities:
● Lead a variety of campus development initiatives, including:
○ Construction of a new, multi-million dollar campus development project.
○ Ongoing campus revitalization projects to support the
continuous improvement of classrooms, workspaces and facilities.
● Gather requirements, identify team members, develop timelines and create communication plans for each project, in cooperation with community, academic and administrative stakeholders.
● Lead regular meetings and record detailed minutes to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of project updates, action items, and next steps.
● Develop, monitor and control campus development expenditures to ensure they are aligned with approved budgets.
● Coordinate compliance with local and national building and safety codes, including fire systems, fire extinguishers, elevators, HVAC, storm water systems, backflow preventers, and theater grid.
● Ensure that all project documentation, including contracts, permits, and reports, are complete and accurate.
● Participate in operational improvement initiatives, including the implementation of a computerized maintenance system to effectively manage work orders.
● In conjunction with the Senior Manager of Operations, inspect facilities to identify maintenance and repair needs, establish facility conditions and schedule critical work at appropriate times.
● Contribute to a team culture of continuous growth and development by coaching and building capacity in operational managers and team members.
● Collaborate with Campus Development Task Force at regular intervals to ensure campus development is progressing appropriately.
● Understand risk management and identify and mitigate any threats to school.
● Respond to special requests, questions or concerns from stakeholders.
● Other tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements:
● University Degree in Civil Construction, Electrical or
Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, Architecture or equivalent. (Masters degree preferred)
● 5+ years of related work experience in project management, with a focus on construction project management, preferably in a school environment.
● Oral and written fluency in the English language.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
● Professional certification in architecture, engineering, or construction.
● Proven leadership, organizational and collaborative skills.
● Demonstrated experience in the management of building codes, construction practices, and safety regulations.
● Knowledge of sustainable design and construction practices.
● Commitment to creating safe, sustainable and inspiring learning environments.
● Demonstrated professional success in the following areas:
○ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
○ Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly and confidently conveying information to a variety of stakeholders.
