Position Objective:
This role will take the ownership of the assigned portfolio, to drive portfolio management activities from end to end:
- Ensure the selected projects under portfolio management are aligned with the organizational vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Work with
Project Manager to ensure project under portfolio are well monitored and executed.
- Throughout the portfolio life cycle, the portfolio manager responsible to manage risks, monitor and prioritize portfolio components, resolve issues that need senior-level attention, develop and improve processes, and apply organizational knowledge and management skills.
- Effectively monitor and update portfolio health status and provide timely updates for stakeholders
Role and Responsibilities:
Portfolio direction & outlook (30%)
- Drive project pipeline selection process, and ensure the projects are aligned with strategic directions and objectives.
- Convey to the portfolio governing body how the portfolio components as a whole are aligned and realigned with the strategic goals.
- Capture the portfolio impact and value creation against strategic directives.
- Identify direction and map dependencies, areas impeding critical path
- Determine root cause of issues and collect, analyze foundational data and fact base
Portfolio implementation management (40%)
- Cooperate and provide consultation to key stakeholders/ business sponsors, and owners to determine the project objectives, cost, benefit, and risk tolerance under each project business case.
- Monitor project execution with the project manager, implementation manager, and change manager throughout the execution phase to ensure the project status is transparent and aligned.
- Track and monitor the health of workstreams performance
- Enable decision making based on facts and data
- Report on issues and their potential impacts
- Provide appropriate recommendations or options for action.
- Manage, and control the overall project costs under his/ her portfolio to maximize investment returns.
- Influence and manage the process of resource allocation.
- Receive information on portfolio component performance and progress, and reporting portfolio progress to top management.
Strategic initiative & change driving (30 %)
- Directly manage enterprise impactful projects under the portfolio to ensure the enterprise projects are executed effectively and reach it goals.
- Work together with the business strategy team to identify new strategy/ investment opportunities or provide consultation on business feasibilities.
- Drive transformation roadmap for assigned area, manage coordination and communication across workstreams
- Communicate decisions from Group and Local's Steering Committee to workstream and organization
Requirements:
- Education - bachelor's degree in business or Engineering from reputable universities. MBA or master's degree is preferred.
- Experience - At least 8 years of experience in Portfolio Management, Program or large-scale
project Management in Financial Services or Consulting industry. Working experience in Life Insurance is highly preferred.
- PMP/PRINCE 2 are required
- PMI PfPM is a plus
- Excellent command of English and Vietnamese, both written and oral.
- Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
