The Experience
Through this externship, you will have the opportunity to work on real organizational challenges nonprofit organizations face by providing actionable insights and proposing thoughtful strategic solutions. This program will focus on Greenpeace, an independent global
environmental campaigning
network. You will conduct a detailed comparative analysis of national organizations and campaigns that have successfully catered to differently-abled people and developed unique accessibility solutions. During this externship, you will:
Familiarize yourself with terminology, concepts, and background involved in accessibility campaigns
Identify national and global organizations and campaigns from across the world that developed accessibility strategies to include and engage people with physical and cognitive disabilities.
Analyze volunteer-facing collateral such as websites, promotional materials, and their overall volunteer journey and experience to derive some best practices for accessibility in this space.
Create an understanding of strategies that can be implemented to improve accessibility throughout Greenpeace
Create and deliver a compelling presentation highlighting insights and best practices from your research and suggest improvements and next steps for improving accessibility concerning the website and the overall volunteer experience
Qualifications
Ambitious undergraduate and graduate students with a strong interest in non-profits, campaign strategy, and inclusivity and accessibility. This program is perfect for students who are interested in
learning about promoting accessibility and how to use data to identify viable campaign strategies for a global organization.
Rolling start dates
The start date for this Externship is rolling and students will be evaluated on a first come first serve basis. Applications will close when the Externship is full.
Part-time and fully remote
This Externship is a 10-hour-per-week fully remote experience where all meetings and events are recorded.
