Consultant for against child exploitation (ace) project: training on skills to work with children.

Background

World Vision International (WV) is a Christian humanitarian organization established since 1950. WV currently operates in more than 100 countries, supporting community development through programs on child protection, education, agriculture, hygiene and sanitation, economic development, emergency relief and disaster risk reduction. WV started working in Vietnam in 1988 and opened its office in Ha Noi in 1990. WVI-Vietnam currently operating in 14 provinces and cities with supporting fund from 13 EU, US and Asian countries.
The Against Child Exploitation (ACE) project, funded by United States Department of Labor (USDOL), has commenced since 2019 in the Philippines with the view to strengthening the capacity of the Philippine government to address the worst forms of child labor (WFCL) including online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC), and violations of acceptable conditions of work.
Building on fruitful results achieved in Philippines, the ACE project will be implemented in Vietnam in 6 target districts of 3 target provinces (1. Dien Bien; 2. Da Nang city and 3. Quang Nam) toward the expected outcomes as follows:
• Outcome 1: Improved enforcement of the legal framework and policies pertaining to the WFCL, including OSEC, and violations of acceptable conditions of work
• Outcome 2: Improved assistance services for victims of WFCL and / or OSEC
• Outcome 3: Strengthened partnerships to accelerate progress in addressing the WFCL, including OSEC, and violations of acceptable conditions of work.
In Vietnam, the project will provide direct technical support and engage with a wide range of government, social partners, civil society and business entities in its implementation to enhance government efforts to counter child labour, to contribute to the national strategy in prevention and reduction of child labour, especially to address WFCL including OSEC.
In order to achieve the Outcome 2, the project will implement capacity-building activities for staff of support service providers on case-management, home visit, trauma informed care, and skills of working with children. In particular, the project will conduct training courses for staff of support service providers in 3 target provinces with details below.

Purpose of Position

Key Responsibilities

- Comply with WVI policy on Child and Adult Safeguarding policy;
- Design monitoring and evaluation tools (pre- & post-test) to assess the change of trainees before and after the training. These tools must be approved by WVI before the training;
- Develop detailed training materials and tools necessary for the training content;
- Write a report after the training.

Knowledge & Skill

Experience

- Have at least Master degree in law, social sciences, social works;
- Have knowledge and at least 5-year experience related to child protection, child rights, child labor, and working with children;
- Demonstrated experience in using training methods that promote the participation of trainees;
- Have experience working for programs and projects related child labors is an advantage.
