1. Management Function:
- Composition of the Biomedical Engineering Team (if applicable) in coordination with the respective disciplinary superior and the PME.
- Leading, coordinating and motivating the Biomedical Engineering Team (if applicable; ensuring a continuous information flow within Biomedical Team; organizing, leading and protocolling regular team meetings.
- Communication with the PME as well as other project participants. First contact person in all concerns of Biomedical Engineering inside the project.
- Coordination of business trips of members of the Biomedical Engineering Team in agreement with the PME.
- Defining detailed engineering objectives based on the overall project objectives.
- Definition of an implementation strategy for attaining these objectives.
- Ensure the compliance with internal regulations (PRO-fit processes, project manuals, directives of the
project supervisory board etc.)
- Release of business trips of the members of the Engineering Team, in agreement with the PME.
2, Operative Tasks
Besides the tasks documented in the PRO-fit, the Biomedical Engineer has especially to assume the following responsibilities.
- Input into cost calculations with respect to man-hours and "Einstandspreis" for the Biomedical Equipment.
- Suggestion of planning partners and conducting appropriate contract negotiations in agreement with the PME.
- Participation at partner selections and contract negotiations until the contract is ready to be signed.
- Organization of the revision of the completeness of supplier-based tender offers by the Biomedical Engineering Team.
- Specification and safeguarding of the planning quality taking into consideration cost objectives and deadlines.
- Regular cost and schedule control of internal as well as external engineering services and coordination with the PME.
- Regular and event-specific reporting to the PME and the technical export about project status, forecast of potential attainment of objectives and possible divergences
- Participation at attaining required approvals of the client, public authorities, etc.
- Providing support with the compilation of risk analyses.
- Research of and analysis of potential sub-suppliers and provision of a decision basis in cooperation with the PME and the
Purchasing Manager.
- Participation in Presentation and justification of technical solutions to the (potential) client, final customer and public authorities in agreement with the Project Manager, participation at customer calls.
- Review of planning results concerning their conformity with the project objectives
- Review of cost estimations and calculations of internal as well as external specialist consultants. Instigation of required measures of adaptation.
- Auditing and clearance of accounts according to standardized billing cycle.
- Setting up and alignment of operation plans for planning and execution.
- Collaboration in the preparation and execution of project meetings.
- Assistance in the implementation of contractual obligations on request of the PME or the
Construction Manager.
- Assistance in the implementation of the transfer/acquisition or the launch of utilization
3. Specific Tasks
- Participation in functional Planning coordination with ATF
- Evaluation of Customer demands
- Room by room Equipment planning
- Creation of the room and department Equipment lists
- Preparation of Generic specifications and Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
- Cost estimate
- Technical Evaluation of offer from Suppliers/Manufacturers
- Participation in Selection of Suppliers for Inquiries
- Participation in selection of Suppliers for Purchase Orders
- Preparation of the provisional pre-installation documents
- Preparation/adaptation and presentation of the above-mentioned documents with/for the customers
- Preparation of final pre-installation documents and interfacing with Civil and M&E works
- Preparation and interfacing of loaded layouts and pre-installation drawings for medical equipment
- Participation in discussions with customers
- Participation in Preparation of project schedules and calculations
- Coordinated and quality-assured approach in project handling in accordance with the Pro Fit Design and Engineering review
